Black/Freedom 14 Rally in Kuala Lumpur
It was good to photograph Anwar Ibrahim again.. I’ve been covering his story since he got arrested under the ISA in 1998. I can remember covering the demonstrations on the streets of KL and walking all over the city following the protesters, running away from the FRUs and water cannon, GETTING HIT by a water cannon, getting kicked by FRUs, having my flash broken by the FRUs, making friends with the protesters.. and waiting for Anwar at the courthouse as he climbs out of his vehicle to wave to the press. Here are some pictures of yesterday’s rally in KL. Malaysiakini has published my pictures on their site! You need to be a paid subscriber to get access.
