It was a well spent day with a bunch of photographers at the workshop. We started with some theory lessons and then we went out to the city center to shoot a couple of assignments. The first assignment was about people getting ready for Hari Raya Haji.” The second assignment was about public transportation specifically the LRT.
We rode the LRT to Masjid Jamek station and then walked to Masjid India to shoot pictures at the bazaar. After that we had lunch at McDonald’s and continued walking to Puduraya bus station to catch people “balik kampung.” Then we headed back on the LRT and back into the CLICK! Go Live Experience Centre to select the best photos for our “Click Times” newspaper.
I think it was quite a fruitful day as I got a couple of good photos for my collection and the participants got to experience what it was like to be a photojournalist for a day. Here are some highlights:
And the best photo from the participancts is this balik kampung photo shot by Hatim:
Second place is this LRT photo shot by Joseph Ung:
And here is the front page layout for our “Click Times” newspaper:
And finally here’s what I shot for both assignments:
Thanks to all the participants who attended the workshop, and thanks to CLICK! for hosting the event. Stay tuned for more workshops to come in the future.

Joseph Ung
Jimin & the rest at Click,
An interesting worskshop where I now have a better idea of how a photojourno works. Not easy to look for a shot to fit a headline given to you within a very limited timeframe. Very different from portrait, landscape, other genres where d subject is already there and you have time to compose and adjust for lighting.
Thanks for the experience and do arrange other workshops where you can share your other photo skills & experience, jimin.
