Christmas in Penang and a Happy New Year!
Looking back, the last quarter of 2008 was fantastic for me. I became single again, had a few big assignments, did a couple of photo talks, a couple of photo workshops, travelled all over Malaysia, picked up pipe smoking, made a lot of new friends, found new loving relationships, spent Christmas in Penang, and I had a blast of a New Year’s Eve party. It was truly a wonderful time in my life.
I promised I’d show you the most magnificently decorated home Christmas tree I’ve ever seen and here it is!

I spent Christmas in my friend Nicky’s house. The five days there was great. I had great food, great company, and a lot of fun joking about the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his performances with Sarah, Nicky’s sister. Her mom Janice made a great dinner – leg of lamb, and to be really honest, I truly had a wonderful time being at their home and spending Christmas with them.
Here’s a photo of me with Nicky next to the beautiful Christmas tree:

It has been so many years since I actually celebrated Christmas I can’t even remember when was the last time I did. I got presents..! And that’s really something I haven’t gotten for years..! Being in the field as a photojournalist most of my life, I didn’t really have proper Christmas experiences. I mostly remember the times I was out shooting decorations in shopping malls and streets all over the city.
The last few weeks has been really special and I am truly grateful to everyone who has contributed to my life and my career. I am grateful that I can spend quality time with the people I cherish instead of being out on assignment in my previous job with AFP. I look forward to a better year in 2009 and I hope to make many more friends, shoot more assignments, do more workshops and have more fun!
Happy New Year 2009!!

cool. lovely decoration.
It would be nice if we could get to that place again and with our daughter Megan. We did have a good relationship for many years. Sad that it had to go though such a rocky time. Megan and I both miss you.
