Portrait: Nicky K

I shot Nicky early December last year and used only 1 SB-800 external flash which was handheld by an assistant. In some of the shots, I set the exposure in the camera to minus 1/3 EV to get a more saturated image. It was a great experience shooting her because we shot several different backgrounds and locations. I plan to do another shoot with her again soon and this time I plan to do more dramatic stuff..

I really like this shot.. I asked her to fling her hair and used the SB-800 from the right side:

I put the flash on the left side this time and I love her look here:

I underexposed the image by 1/3 stop and used the flash from the right, parallel to her body:

A simple restaurant partition was used to create dynamic lines as the background:

This was the wall of TGIF Fridays… One SB-800 zoomed to it’s maximum length:

On my next shoot with her I’ll play with more lighting since now I have 3 Speedlights. Stay tuned for more Nicky K. You can find her profile on Model Mayhem here. She is open for bookings and she’s really easy to work with.
