I shot Nicky early December last year and used only 1 SB-800 external flash which was handheld by an assistant. In some of the shots, I set the exposure in the camera to minus 1/3 EV to get a more saturated image. It was a great experience shooting her because we shot several different backgrounds and locations. I plan to do another shoot with her again soon and this time I plan to do more dramatic stuff..

I really like this shot.. I asked her to fling her hair and used the SB-800 from the right side:

I put the flash on the left side this time and I love her look here:

I underexposed the image by 1/3 stop and used the flash from the right, parallel to her body:


A simple restaurant partition was used to create dynamic lines as the background:
