So I brought all my big 300Watts strobes and lugged them around the hotel for 4 days.. And I didn’t even use them once. All the work was done with the Nikon CLS system (2 x SB800 & 1 x SB900). Working wirelessly has really speeded up my work because I don’t have to pull the cables around and connect them and then disconnect them from the plug every time I move locations. Now that I’m slowly getting the hang of CLS I don’t think I’d ever bring the big strobes along on location shoots anymore… unless I really need that kind of power.
I only used 2 lights for these shots below, 1 on an umbrella and the other on a honeycomb snoot. Shot entirely on the 24-70mm f2.8.
