Here’s a series of outdoor photos that were shot with a mixture of available light and two Nikon speedlights. The shoot commenced at 5.45pm and ended around 8pm, so you can see the ambient light getting darker as it got later in the evening.

Here the sky was getting darker and made a nice background:

The sky got even darker and there was a big screen tv high up in the background that provided the light reflecting on the floor:

You can see here, the big screen tv was changing colors all the time and so did the reflection on the floor:
