Coporate shoot for Towers Perrin
Recently, I was hired to shoot corporate photos by an American company called Towers Perrin for their brochures, annual reports, presentations, etc. It was my first real assignment I had chosen to do after a really long break. I’d not held a camera for more than a year! Because I have no gear of my own, I rented a Nikon D3, 24-70mm & 85mm f1.4 lenses from my good friend, Johan. The D3 is a fantastic camera if you are a die hard Nikon fan. Of course, I loved the way my pictures came out, but I’ve been shooting with Canon for the last 12 years, so I didn’t exactly fall in love with the D3 right away. But I was impressed at how there was almost no noise when shooting at high ISOs. The hype was right..
The Country Manager: I took him outside the building to get the nice diffused daylight and a nice background. Used a reflector to brighten the shadows under his face.
85mm f1.4 – I love this lens.. a beauty:
I just couldn’t resist shooting this shot with the Twin Towers in the background. I spent a lot of time on this shot because I had a lot of problems with the reflection from the glass.

This shoot took a whole day.. maybe because I was rusty. Thanks to my assistant Brian who helped me make all these images possible. And yes, I had to photoshop him out of the reflection because he was wearing a bright cap! And also thanks to Choen who lent me his big, huge reflector, which was quite useful.
To summarize my experience with the D3. Just check out the quality of the images, and the colour.. man, I’ve never seen anything like it.
Equipment used for this shoot: Nikon D3, 24-70mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.4, 70-200mm f2.8, a big ass reflector, & one studio light.

The man in Photo 1-3 has the same smile, he really “practised” it good for photo taking.
