Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism that creates images in order to tell a story. It is now usually understood to refer only to still images, but in some cases the term also refers to video used in broadcast journalism. Photojournalism is distinguished from other close branches of photography (such as documentary photography, street photography or celebrity photography) by certain the qualities. Like a writer, a photojournalist is a reporter but he or she must often make decisions instantly and carry photographic equipment, often while exposed to significant obstacles (physical danger, weather, crowds). This Photographic Workshop lead by well known Malaysian photojournalist, Shamshahrin Shamsuddin will give a deeper exposure to the meaning of photojournalism. Shamshahrin Shamsuddin, from the European Pressphoto Agency, has been working in the industry for more than 25 years.
He will be sharing and discussing with the workshop participant about the basic of photojournalism in a small, intimate class. The discussion will cover the foundation, history, ethics, organizations, impact in Photojournalism, and the workflow of a photojournalist. He will also shares his vast experiences, and discuss about his works with the participant. The goal of this 1-day workshop is to educate, share, and discuss about the topic involve, therefore to give a better understanding about Photojournalism.
